How Do I Finally Get Rid Of Repeated Yahoo Spam Email?

Submitted by admin on October 27, 2009 – 5:52 am3 Comments

I keep getting Spam emails on my Yahoo account. I have been marking them for months as Spam yet they keep letting them through. I never open them, just click the box and mark as Spam.
I only want to receive mail from the people in my Address Book, or from Yahoo sources such as Answers.
When I go to my email, it may say I have 13 messages but 8 or 9 of them are Spam that I’ve marked as such repeatedly for months.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Did you find it as irritating as I do?
What did you do about it?
Should I change my email address?
Where can I go to get better Spam protection?
I am really sick of having Spam delivered to my Yahoo email. It’s like having no protection at all and I do pay for Yahoo-Plus.

spam comes up most likely when someone got ur email adress and also some information about u like web cache, forum account posts or anything like that.
do not use yahoo messenger in chat rooms on same machine where you check mail. if possible also use a completely seperated account for chat.
yahoo does have the ability (and legalisation) to filter communications on special words and terms. if they do so i dont know. if so they could sell your information to advertisers. i think in usa this is legal.
do not type your email adress anywhere without encryptingnot on a website not in any adress book on ur pc. if it happens only once and you have bad luck, the adress is beyond rescue because as soon as the first advertiser has it, it begins reselling and reselling and sharing.
in general if you get spam, you shud check what kind of spam it is. i noticed the spam you get is connected to what u do in the internet. so if you watch closely you might where a spam mailer must have got ur adress and you can avoid that site.
in the end. honestly i wudnt use yahoo pay service email. adresses i use on yahoo wud either be so unimportant that it doesnt need premium or the adress IS very important and then i wudnt trust it to an american enterprise. better chose a service located in a country with more protection of privacy. i use gmx and am content with it. the spam filter owns that of yahoo many times and gmx is free.

Oh poor you. So you are paying for Yahoo Plus. Well, the only way to completely stop spam is to close your email address. Period. EVERYONE gets spam, but the rest of us don’t agonize. If you really took the time to look at the headers on all the spam, all it takes is one letter different to get by the spam filters. Spammers change their headers daily, sometimes several times a day. They can do this faster than you can complain about it.
