How To Send High Volume Email Marketing Campaigns

Submitted by admin on December 18, 2009 – 10:43 pmNo Comment

Email marketing is without a doubt the best way to communicate information in a cost and time efficient manner, while maintaining a professional and tech savvy image.  In the information age that we live in, not using this method of communicating would not be wise.  When the marketing campaigns to thousands and thousands of contacts, there are ways to manage them so that your message gets delivered to as many people in the way that you created it.

Firstly, it’s important to do a test send of your newsletter to various emails accounts and open it on different computers as well. Contrary to what you might think, a lot of how your email appears depends on browser capabilities, bandwidth speeds, email service providers and Internet service providers. For example, the same email could look entirely different on a Mac when compared with a PC. Testing saves you a lot of effort when it comes to creating a certain minimum quality and consistency to your email marketing campaign.

Second, on a regular basis, invest some time maintaining your list of email addresses. If there are emails that are outdated, invalid or incorrect, you should deal with them immediately. Too many bounces affect your credibility as a genuine and responsible email marketer.

To keep your list clean, a useful thing to do is to have readers confirm subscription to your newsletter. Once they are confirmed, that will immediately clean up your list and though the extra step might make it smaller, it will be more targeted and accurate.

Certain companies have the facility to authenticate – authenticating is a way of making it clear that you are indeed the sender of your email.  Companies that take the trouble to go through this process as best suits their needs will benefit.  Identities that have been authenticated are much more unlikely to get weeded out as spam.

No matter how large your marketing campaign is, it’s important to make it seem small, intimate and personal.  The reader should never feel like one in a million.  Use whatever data you have collected, first and last names, hometowns, preferences, and insert them where appropriate in your newsletters or messages.

It’s also important to keep the subject line of the email relevant to the content – don’t use a catch-phrase for the sake of getting readers’ attention.  It is very putting off to the reader if the subject line and content of the email message don’t match.  It will provoke him or her to immediately report as spam or delete, and your message won’t even get a chance to get reader for a first impression.  Make your reader trust you, so that they will always be inclined to read your emails.

Because email is so easy and fast, it’s possible to get carried away and not take the time to plan out the necessary steps to execute a high volume campaign.  Take the time to do that so that your efforts don’t go wasted.
